Chopper Spins Out of Control into Palm Trees at Popular Southern California Shoreline
A helicopter hovering near a crowded coastal coastline unexpectedly began spiraling wildly, ultimately losing altitude and smashing into a line of palm fronds as onlookers observed.
Footage uploaded on the internet show the helicopter starting to spin near Huntington Beach then falling near the perimeter of the beach, where it ends up lodged among palm trees and a steps adjacent to the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Information
Emergency responders stated five individuals were rushed to the hospital comprising two individuals who were in the helicopter and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the incident on that day.
Three people on the pavement were harmed. Details on their wounds were not yet released.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
Planned Function
Officials said the chopper was linked to an annual “Cars and Copters” fundraising event set for the next day.
