Intensive Russian Assaults Cut Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have caused power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and encountered disruption to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Russian forces has intensified attacks on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, Europe and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and enforcing penalties," he wrote in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty projectiles attacked energy facilities, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes struck power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to local officials.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region endured heavy assaults overnight. A minor was killed and three other people were hurt.

The strikes come after periods of aerial attacks in the territory, parts of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The whole nation is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated energy workers and government agencies were anticipating more assaults.
